show search results in a single window (using frames)

It displays the results from the first engine that you selected, in the bottom frame. To switch to another engine, select its name from the drop-down list that appears in the frame on top-left.

Tips:

• Use this option to conserve your system resources by opening fewer windows.
• If you select many engines, it might take some time to display the results initially. But please allow the results from one engine to load fully in the bottom frame before switching to another engine.

Selecting this checkbox tells Turbo Start to assign each opened window to a selected engine and to reuse the window for that engine.
Example:
If you make a search choosing Yahoo and Altavista, one window will be opened for Yahoo and one for Altavista.

Then, if you again perform a search, this time selecting Yahoo and Excite, the results for Yahoo will be shown in its original window (i.e. its window will be reused); the Altavista window will remain unchanged; and a new window will be opened for Excite.

But if you had left the reuse windows checkbox unchecked in the above example, the search results for the second search at Yahoo would also be shown in a new window (i.e. its window would not be reused). Thus, a new window will be opened every time you search.

You can select to show or hide the various components in the search results windows:

• menubar
• toolbar
• address bar (or location toolbar)
• links bar (or personal toolbar)
• status bar

Select the Disable metasearch checkbox to disable the "Metasearch using..." checkboxes at the bottom of several categories. This will prevent them from being selected when you press the "All" button. The metasearch engines will also not be listed in the engines drop-down list in the search results window.
